Many householders are confused about how to make their building project comply with Building Regulations. There are two alternative methods Building Notice and Full Plans for which a verification process and inspection is required to be carried out by a Building Control Body usually the Local Authority Building Control ( LABC ) but it can also be a private approved inspector.

A Full Plans submission is the recommended method as construction drawings & details are submitted and formally approved and vetted before construction commences. LABC have produced videos to view on their website explaining the full Building Regulations submission & approval process – see image link.

Plans4 your home can undertake the ‘full plans’ submission process on your behalf for preparation of Building Regulations construction drawings with building notes together with application documents – this will sometimes requires area calculations for glazing energy compliance  and lighting details as required by the authorising body. We can also undertake the process for obtaining a Regularisation Certificate where work has previouslybeen carried out but no Building Regulation approval has been obtained.
