Concept Design

The first phase of the design process is Concept Design which will show you the principles of our proposed design for your home – be it a house extension, attic or cellar conversion or house remodelling.

Before we start we make an accurate survey of your property so that we can work from correct dimensions. We use an Ordnance Survey (OS) digital site map to understand the limitations of your plot and the relationship of your house with surrounding properties. We then start laying out initial plans – it is always easier to see layout options on a virtual ‘drawing board’ rather than on the site. From this 3D information you will easily be able to read our design proposals even if you don’t understand drawings and be able to make suggestions for possible amendment.

It doesn’t take only money to achieve ‘good design’ – it takes creativity.

We then flesh out our initial ideas when we often try to add some interesting design feature even in the simplest project – it may be the use of colour, or texture or it could be a special window or door design or a visual feature like an overhang porch roof; just something that makes your home subtlety different .

The Concept Design stage is where we put all our ideas together & present them you. The way we present our schemes is through the use of a 3D model from which we produce visuals and walk-through/flyover movie + web views which you can view on your computer or mobile device and interact with your design.
